KITLV-Jakarta is part of Leiden University Libraries (UBL), in co-operation with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
The main activities of KITLV-Jakarta include collection development, publishing, and research facilitation. The library has a reading room containing several thousand books, journals and major reference works, and offers access to UBL online resources.
Contributing to the UBL collections
Books, newspapers, journals and grey literature published in Indonesia, are selected, purchased and catalogued by KITLV-Jakarta. The material is then shipped to Leiden, to be added to the University Library's Indonesian collections.
Leiden University in Indonesia
KITLV-Jakarta doubles as the Representative Office of Leiden University in Indonesia. It facilitates academic collaboration with regards to research and education of KITLV-Jakarta and Leiden University, cooperating with Indonesian governmental institutions, universities, and relevant research organizations.
