Workplaces for researchers

Are you a researcher looking to intensively use our library collections? Book one of our dedicated workplaces.

The University Library (UB) offers a few workplaces in a lockable room, to facilitate intensive use of our collections. The workplaces are located in the Van Gulik Room inside the Asian Library, on the top floor of the UB.

Workplaces are meant for use by researchers only; a Leiden University or other university affiliation is mandatory. A workplace can be booked for up to 3 months.

Facilities

The Van Gulik Room workplaces each offer a desk, book storage facilities, and a monitor with (USB-C) dock to connect and charge your personal device. The workplaces can be used during University Library (UB) opening hours.

How to apply

Please show your interest in using a workplace by sending us an email, motivating your request and mentioning your specific university affiliation.

If your application is accepted and we have a free spot, you will be issued with some practical information and an agreement form to fill out. We kindly ask you to hand in the form when picking up the room keys for the first time.
