Get to know your Library
Information Specialists
For general questions, or if you are not sure what would be the most suitable point of entry, you can best get in touch with us via ‘Ask a Librarian’. Our information specialists will deal with your query which they will either answer directly or pass on to the appropriate department for you. Information Specialists have extensive knowledge of the Library and will be happy to help you.
The Information Specialists have broad experience in searching, appraising, and managing information; they can provide both advice and dedicated courses on reference management software.
Subject Librarians and Medical Information Specialists
These are the dedicated contact persons for the various disciplines that we serve.
The Library has assigned a Subject Librarian or Medical Information Specialist to each department or institute who provides in-depth assistance for researchers and teachers with:
- Acquisition requests
- Use of Library collections in teaching (for instance in Brightspace)
- Creating information literacy programs for students, such as on finding and appraising relevant research resources and/or setting up a systematic literature review
Special Collections
Our curators are happy to help you if you want to engage students with primary sources from the Special Collections in the Library’s lecture rooms. We also offer a learning module in Brightspace, in which students learn exactly how they can use our reading room and collections. You can read more on this webpage.
